One of John Ford’s most famous films tells the story of American Sean Thornton, an ex-boxer, who returns to his native Ireland in order to live in the house he was born inundefinedWhite O’Mornin. The film stars John Wayne, Maureen O’Hara, and the irrepressible Barry Fitzgerald. The Quiet Man, for good or ill, occupies a storied place in Irish film history. Probably the most popular Irish film in history, it still exerts an influence over directors and audiences. Winner Best Director Academy Awards 1953 (Dir. John Ford) 129 min.
